I’m just kidding about the egg shell and tangerine!! My point is that there are quite a few colors out there…which colors work best? Those of you reading this and know me, already know that I don’t speak “scientific”. I speak experience. I’m just sharing the facts of what I’ve seen over the 32 years of doing facials.
I started working with LED in 2003. My first machine had red and blue. I was told that red was for anti-aging and that blue was for acne. I saw fabulous results from the red LED which prompted me to include it in every treatment and I have been doing so ever since then. LED is not an add-on for my clients. I finish every treatment with LED.
My story about blue LED is quite different. I used it on acne for years but never seemed to clear up my clients acne for very long. It discouraged me. But then I read about green for acne, so I started using green instead of blue. Guess what? I started seeing acne clear up! Simply put: blue doesn’t penetrate very deep so it will only help surface acne. Green penetrates deeper and kills bacteria at an oxygenating level. It’s been 16 years now since I started using LED and I’m still a big fan!! I’m kind of even a bigger fan because of the new Illuminate panel that is so powerful that treatment time is only 5 minutes. Seriously…only 5 minutes to get results! Now there’s no reason not to offer LED in every treatment. The treatment time for most panels to get decent results is 30 minutes…..that’s just way too much time taken up!
Let’s chat more about green LED. I was told years ago that it’s great for pigmentation. I tested it using a full face panel of green and never saw any results but….I’m thinking my panel wasn’t strong enough. I’ve got a very strong 250 LED green hand unit that I’ve been using for acne ( and getting results!). It’s a 90 second spot treatment time! I’m going to do some testing on pigmentation….I’ll keep you posted! This green hand held unit will be available soon. Price will be $250.
Any idea when you will get the green led?
I’m hoping by the end of the month! I’ll make a video soon so you guys can see it!!
Hi Shelly,
What is your thoughts on full face red and or green for
aging , acne and pigmentation?
I got my first LED in 2003 and have been hooked ever since. I’m partial to red, that’s why we constructed our Illuminate panel with 1800 red LED’s. I’ve used green for acne for over 10 years. It works really well! Green is also fabulous for pigmentation. I’m not a big fan of blue…never saw much results from blue. LED is not an add on to my facial treatments. I’ve included it with every treatment since 2003!
thank you so much for responding!
What are your thoughts on yellow, or amber LED?
I had a full panel that had yellow/amber in it and did some testing. Didn’t see much change. Not a fan.
Hi Shelley,
Do you think is better to use any mask or serum under LED treatment?
Thank you.
I’ve used LED with clean skin and also with products on it….I notice better results with products on the skin!! Watch Shelley’s Show & Tell workshop video to see a full explanation!
Thank you, Shelley!
If they wanted more than 5 mins, is that okay to still do? Or is it possible to overdo it with LED?
And I remember reading somewhere that some people with SUPER sensitive skin, sometimes felt a (negative) reaction to LED, your thoughts? Was it the machine they were using, or something else?
I’ve only hand a handful on clients over the years that get slightly red from LED and they are fine by the time they leave. At a certain point the body just stops absorbing the energy. For the Illuminate it’s at 10 minutes. Other LED units will be longer.
Thanks for insight. I have too much to learn. T_T
So don’t bother to go over the 10 min mark with the Illuminate then? I ain’t getting any other LED. I’m guessing there’s a pdf you send when device is purchased? It’ll probably answer most of my questions… I guess I’ll wait to ask more. Haha.
If you take so much time out of your career to find the best, it doesn’t make sense for me to bother/try to research (for purchase) other things. Seems silly to do.
