Key Ingredients
Zinc Oxide: A non-chemical mineral that sits on top of the skin to create a highly effective physical barrier that reflects harmful UVA and UVB rays. Zinc Oxide is non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores. And it is gentle enough for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin or rosacea.
Titanium Dioxide: Naturally occurring broad spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays, which are the two main types of ultraviolet radiation from the sun that can damage the skin. Along with the broad-spectrum protection benefits, titanium dioxide can help absorb oil, which can be beneficial for oily and acne-prone skin. Titanium dioxide can help even out skin tone and also acts as a light-diffusing agent, reducing the appearance of imperfections and giving a smoother finish.
Rosehip Oil: Is loaded with skin-nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids. It also contains phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. Rosehip Oil is high in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A, or retinol, encourages skin cell turnover. Vitamin C also aids in cell regeneration, boosting overall radiance. Vitamins A and C are both necessary for the production of collagen. Rosehip has also been shown to inhibit the creation of MMP-1, an enzyme that breaks down collagen in the body.
Coconut Oil: Seals moisture into the skin, preventing transepidermal water loss. It is rich in antioxidants and has moisturizing properties to help you achieve a lighter and more even skin tone. It helps the body get rid of dead skin and assists in regenerating new and healthy skin cells.
Rose Essential Oil: Has potent anti-inflammatory effects that help treat redness and inflammation. In addition, it contains vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that fight off free radicals which encourage skin damage and skin aging. Free radicals can cause damage to skin tissue, which results in wrinkles, lines and dehydration. Rose Extract has excellent emollient properties for moisturizing dry skin. In 2010, researchers published a study uncovering that rose essential oil exhibited one of the strongest bactericidal activities compared to 10 other oils. rose oil was able to completely destroy Propionibacterium acnes (the bacteria responsible for acne) after only five minutes of a 0.25 percent dilution.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Vitamin B3 has many benefits including supporting the skin barrier, increasing skin cell turnover, restoring moisture, and protecting the skin from environmental damage such as sun exposure and pollution. In addition, it helps improve the texture of the skin by visibly minimizing and tightening pores and correcting imperfections, while softening fine lines and wrinkles and diminishing dullness, blackheads and pigmentation issues. Vitamin B3 has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and can inhibit excessive sebum production that leads to breakouts. It also unclogs pores and prevents acne.
Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice: Besides its ability to help replenish and retain moisture in the skin, aloe also stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, all of which are necessary to keep skin hydrated, firm, and supple, which decline naturally with age. Applying aloe vera topically has been shown to help restore skin elasticity and decrease the appearance of fine lines.
Hyaluronic Acid: Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds to water molecules and increases the water content of the skin. It helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles: Since dehydrated skin is one of the main causes of wrinkles, hyaluronic acid replenishes lost moisture and draws and maintains moisture from the environment directly to the skin.
