Glycolic Acid:  Glycolic acid has the smallest-sized molecules of all the AHAs. This allows glycolic acid to absorb into the skin and exfoliate better than other AHAs.  Glycolic acid works by helping to speed up cell turnover. In effect, your skin can shed dead skin cells more quickly than it would on its own.  Glycolic acid helps the skin to make more collagen as well.  Using glycolic acid each day may help prevent the breakdown of collagen.

Hyaluronic Acid: Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds to water molecules and increases the water content of the skin.  It may help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, since dehydrated skin is one of the main causes of wrinkles, hyaluronic acid replenishes lost moisture and draws and maintains moisture from the environment directly to the skin.

Witch Hazel:  This multi-purpose product has many uses, including killing bacteria that can live within the skin’s pores to keep acne at bay. Witch hazel contains a high concentration of tannins, a group of antioxidant chemicals. Tannins act as an astringent and are anti-bacterial. Tannins may help to shrink pores and regulate excess oil on the skin.  

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3):  Vitamin B3 has many benefits including supporting the skin barrier, increasing skin cell turnover, restoring moisture, and protecting the skin from environmental damage.  In addition, it may help improve the texture of the skin by visibly minimizing and tightening pores and correcting imperfections, while softening fine lines and wrinkles and diminishing dullness, blackheads, and pigmentation issues.  Vitamin B3 may help inhibit excessive sebum production that leads to breakouts. It also may help unclog pores and prevent unwanted hair growth and acne.

Triethanolamine:  Triethanolamine is found in skincare and cosmetic products such as moisturizers, eyeliners, mascaras, hair care, and sunscreens. It stabilizes and increases the pH of products to improve the way they feel and interact with the skin. Triethanolamine is also a non-active compound, which means it doesn’t have any effect on the skin; it’s only used to make products more stable and improve texture.

Salicylic Acid:  Also known as Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) are oil-soluble exfoliants that reach deep into the pores to break down bonds between dead skin cells. BHAs are also antibacterial and soothing, which makes them especially helpful in treating acne and soothing sensitive skin. Salicylic acid is debatably the most popular BHA, known for its acne-dissolving and dead-skin-sloughing abilities.

Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice: Besides its ability to help replenish and retain moisture in the skin, aloe also may help stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin fibers in the skin, all of which are necessary to keep skin hydrated, firm, and supple, which decline naturally with age. Applying aloe vera topically has been shown to help restore skin elasticity and decrease the appearance of fine lines.

Rosemary Oil:  Rosemary Oil acts as a refreshing astringent that balances and tones the skin.
