Witch Hazel:  Witch hazel contains a high concentration of tannins, a group of antioxidant chemicals. Tannin’s act as an astringent, is anti-viral, and anti-bacterial. Tannins help to shrink pores and regulate excess oil on the skin and soothes the skin. 

Azelaic Acid:  Azelaic acid helps reduce and helps control the production of melanin (pigment found in the skin) and reduces the appearance of dark spots.  Azelaic acid soothes the skin, and helps to reduce bumps and swelling through a process that involves the restriction of overactive protease activity (the enzyme that breaks down protein).

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA):  TCA breaks up keratin, a protein found in the skin. This causes the keratin to stop functioning properly, lighten in color and peel away from the skin over the course of several days. A TCA peel chemically exfoliates the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, sun damage and it improves skin texture.

Sea Salt:  Sea salt is loaded with minerals, including potassium, calcium, magnesium and sodium.  All of which play an important role in the health, function, and cellular communication of our skin. When the mineral balance of the skin is not balanced. Sea Salt can help balance and improve hydration. It can also help strengthen the skin, making your skin appear younger.

Hydroquinone Acid:  Hydroquinone is a bleaching agent used to lighten the dark patches of the skin (also called hyperpigmentation, "age spots," freckles) caused by pregnancy, birth control pills, hormone medicine, or injury to the skin. This ingredient works by blocking the process of melanin production in the skin that leads to discoloration.

Hyaluronic Acid:   It’s a well-known humectant that can attract and hold moisture. Hyaluronic molecules can store 1,000 times their own weight in water. This is advantageous since HA molecules are too big to permeate the skin. HA, on the other hand, stays on the skin’s surface and acts to keep moisture in place so that it may be absorbed.

Kojic Acid:  Kojic acid is a chemical that’s produced from different species of fungi and found as a by-product in fermented rice and soy sauce. It’s used topically to reduce the appearance of dark spots, brighten skin, and promote healthy aging.  Research indicates that kojic acid and its derivatives have antioxidant, UV-protector, and skin-lightening effects on the skin.
