In-Depth Spotlight of the Ingredient Chlorella Vulgaris Extract:

Chlorella Vulgaris Extract has been shown to stimulate collagen synthesis. Collagen is responsible for the strength, elasticity, smoothness and plump appearance of healthy skin. Simultaneously, it demonstrates broad spectrum prebiotic and probiotic enhancing properties.  Promotes clear skin by reducing sebum and balancing the skin microbiome with its broad prebiotic action (direct and indirect). Delivering the latest in skin nutrition in a non-greasy, emollient and moisturizing compound with excellent anti-aging and moisture balancing properties. Also contains a high amount of essential fatty acids, which makes it an important calming ingredient. It also provides an excellent healing and moisturizing process for broken or damaged skin (cell renewal) while preserving the skin delicate balance (microbiome and calmed skin)

Chlorella is algae that is cultivated only in freshwater.  Its main component is a variety of antioxidants, which may protect the skin from damage caused by too much sun exposure or by coming into contact with chemical pollutants. The antioxidants in chlorella may help reduce pollutants as they try to enter the skin. Chlorella tightens and firms, improving the elasticity of the face. The antioxidants, along with B Vitamins and Vitamin C, may help encourage cell turnover.

This skin conditioning and protecting agent is believed to have powerful anti-aging benefits, mainly due to the fact that it’s a rich source of carotenoids- a family of nutrients that when applied on the skin, may help to protect it from the harmful effects of UV rays.

Chlorella vulgaris extract is loaded with amino acids such as lysine, proline, glycine, and alanine, all of which are the essential building blocks of proteins and constitute each individual collagen unit. Its significant amino acid component leads many to believe that it may have the ability to smooth the surface of the skin, particularly with scarred or aging skin. It is an excellent source of methyl-cobolamine, the most absorbable form of vitamin B12.

With regards to its anti-aging benefits, many studies demonstrate its ability to prevent the breakdown of collagen and elasticity, as well as help generate the production of more collagen. In addition, other studies have shown that it may increase skin firmness.
